COMMUNITY
At CrossFit Pulse Montréal we know it’s your friends and community that will hold you accountable and help drive you towards success. We are a collective crew on many individual journeys, united by sweat, hard work and accomplishment.
Our Core Values
TRANSCENDENCE
We’re here to set goals, big or small, and help you surpass your limits. Transcendence takes determination and work ethic and we value the effort put in far more than the results achieved. We view CrossFit as a lifelong tool that can help you improve both your mental and physical wellbeing.
BALANCE
Balancing hard work and play is the key to ensuring that your efforts are sustainable over the course of a lifetime. We’re not only about gritty workouts and pushing your limits. It’s equally important to blow off steam and have fun along the way.

After watching a documentary about the CrossFit Games, my curiosity peaked about this crazy sport in which athletes appear more like “Super Heros,” capable of doing anything and everything at any moment. It’s now been more than 5 years since I’ve embarked on this journey of CrossFit which also sparked my desire to teach and mentor. With a background in personal training, swimming, and other sports, CrossFit was the missing link that helped me bring all the pieces together into what we know now as the standard for general physical preparedness. Passing my CF L1 allowed me to dive head first into teaching and sharing my passion for this methodology, which unites health, performance and an amazing community. My dream continues with the opening of “Pulse Montréal” and I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed.

Ever since watching the CrossFit Games in 2013, I’ve been obsessed with CrossFit. I passed my Level 1 exam in December of 2013 before ever having personally tried CrossFit and started pursuing my dream of becoming a full-time coach. Helping my athletes lose 50 pounds, get their first muscle up and/or achieve whatever other goals inside and out of the gym is what has driven me to open my own affiliate.
In 2018 I achieved my Level 2 credentials and have been coaching over 20 hours per week of CrossFit classes for the past 7 years. In addition to coaching both group classes and private sessions, I have multiple years’ worth of experience programming CrossFit workouts designed to increase work capacity across broad time and modal domains.

I’ve been athletically active all my life. Through high school and early university years I competed in practically all individual and team sports including gymnastics, alpine and cross country skiing, hockey, football, soccer, rugby and more recently CrossFit (the Open). I was an alpine and water ski instructor and I currently have my CrossFit level 2 credential. Sports has been a lifelong passion and pursuit, constantly pushing my limits and expertise. I weight trained off and on for many years and pursued telemark, alpine and cross country skiing during the winter and primarily cross country mountain biking during summer. My son, Sean Cryer, introduced me to CrossFit about 11 years ago and I have been consistently training since. I find it to be, by far, the best physical conditioning method available, enabling me to pursue all sports to my best possible limits, for pleasure and competitively.

I started my CrossFit journey in 2013. After decades of accumulating poor health and nutrition habits, it’s thanks to my wonderfully sincere coaches and the camaraderie inherent within the CrossFit community that I found the motivation and encouragement to make significant changes in my life. I invested myself in Pulse Montreal in order to keep my coaches and friends close to heart and also to make my dream gym a reality. With my spouse Alexandre, I am already in charge of a company in IT and marketing and therefore will be at the head of administrative work for the gym. I hope to foster the environment necessary for our new CrossFit family to thrive and flourish.

Throughout my adult life, I have explored various types of training such as traditional gyms, Muay Thai, boxing and running. Four years ago, my wife Dominique introduced me to CrossFit. I was lucky to work with dedicated coaches who knew how to communicate their passion. The many aspects of CrossFit such as weightlifting, gymnastics, mobility and nutrition allow me to improve my health and my strength despite being 47 years old, as well as in a new passion recently discovered: the triathlon. I am passionate about IT and work in this field through my company co-founded with Dominique and CrossFit allows me to free my mind and move while being surrounded by my friends and family who push me to surpass myself. I look forward to meeting you at our gym.
